Here in the UAE!

Bob and I are on the greatest adventure. He is working here in Abu Dhabi for the Perot Company and after 2 1/2 mos decided that it was time for me to experience the adventure too. We live in a downtown highrise on the 10th floor. It is pretty noisy as we are right in the city. There are about 3 million people here in Abu Dhabi. Only 20% are native Emirates... so the other 80% are from US, England, Pakistan, Lebanon, Egypt, France and so on... a real mix of peoples. There is a ton of building going on, in fact whole little cities are being built outside of the city... it's amazing! The economic situation has hit here too as many realty companies have gone belly up and others are combining forces. We hear that the local Emirates enjoy $50,000 a year government tax free monies just for being a National, and are provided with housing. I guess that is what happens when you live in the wealthiest city in the world...oil country!
