Secrets

We all have them, secrets. Oh, those things that we keep hidden from others to see or hear. Most likely because of shame, an embarrassing moment or just something we would rather forget. But sometimes just sharing those secrets anonymously is so refreshing and sort of a monkey off your back. Most of my life I haven't heard well (an understatement) and have missed so much in conversations. I literally strain to hear others especially when they have confided in me; I've learned to "lean in" so I can catch the words and have an appropriate response to their sharing of a "secret". I LOVE a good story. We invite many people over to lunch/dinner wherever we live so we can hear their story.Wow! have we heard some amazing ones, some funny ones and some very sad ones. Over the years, I have worked with some incredibly smart, funny people. And I have heard some amazing stories from them and also some secrets. I guess they figure I'm a good listener and not a blabber mouth, so they tell. I don't share secrets that I have heard but in all actuality there have been some that I didn't hear. I pretended to because I didn't want to ruin their sharing moment. So I couldn't share even if I wanted to~ which I don't and I wouldn't. But I know that I've helped a few friends to walk away from divulging a secret with a huge burden lifted. So, do you carry a secret? Well, maybe it's time to get that monkey off your back~ tell a non-blabber friend (not me, I most likely won't be able to hear the whisper~lol!), or look at this video and share your secret through his website. Let it go and then... you're free!
Okay, so now to the short video from TED talks that I wanted to share about secrets.
http://www.ted.com/talks/frank_warren_half_a_million_secrets.html
Frank Warren has an interesting website called Postsecrets. The video is one of thousands that can be viewed on countless subjects on TED talks. If you don't know about these talks and like to know lots of interesting/random things, then you should check it out!
At the end of the video he talks of phone messages saved. I know about that, as I have phone messages from someone I miss everyday who went to a place we call Heaven. That's where Angels go.

"Secrets can remind us of the countless human dramas, of frailty and heroism playing out silently in the lives of people all around us.” (Frank Warren)

I love the TED talks! This one was really interesting. I even had to go to the website. Everyone has secrets, we just never know what.
