Abu Dhabi

We have now been in Abu Dhabi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Dhabi for two weeks. The time has literally flown by. Our plane trip was crazy~~ and much different this time flying coach. Last time we came overseas we flew Business~ we were VERY spoiled I realize now! But I was happy to be back with the rest of the crowd; as I have never felt comfortable with the "class" part of flying. Shouldn't we all be one class? When we arrived in Chicago for our Etihad (airlines) flight, we had already been flying for 8 hours and were pretty beat. It was still about an hour before take off but the people were already in que and ready to be seated. They don't have any system of organization in boarding like they do for other airlines~~ it's craziness! So, we got to our section and found our seats. I think we were the only Americans amongst a sea of Arabs, Egyptians, India~ns, etc. Mostly men and a few women scattered around and fewer children too. I was against the window and Bob was in the middle of me and an Indian man. There is never enough room, especially for tall men. Our flight was almost 13 hours. We tried to sleep, tried to watch movies, tried to read~~ and very happy to finally look out the window and see the beautiful Arabian Gulf and Abu Dhabi!!! After renting our car, we headed to a beautiful hotel where I brushed my teeth, washed my face and konked out! Bob was up and out at about 9 and I hung out for a few hours and watched the Iowa Caucus as I was getting ready. It was nice to see something from the US even if it was the ridiculous Republican circus :-) So now we are settled in a hotel apartment waiting for our residency so we can move into a permanent place. I will put pictures and more details later....
